Prouvé

As a part of the subject „theory of design“ in university, we got the exercise called „in the sense of..“ That means to do an extensive research about an individually assigneddesigner. On the basis of this research we should design a cuboid with given dimensions. I had to deal with Jean Prouvé, one of the most important designers in the 20th century. Jean Prouvé was a non-typical constructor, who always wanted to create „special things“. Because of that I also wanted to build something special. The design of this cuboid is inspired by the typical form of Jean Prouvés furniture: for example the standard chair. The special thing of my design model is, the center of gravity is displaced, so the whole construction must be balanced by an added weight inside the model. In short: My aim was to play with physic, gravity and science like Jean Prouvé did.
