Im Jahr 2020 überstiegen die vom Menschen erzeugten Dinge die gesamte auf der Welt befindliche Biomasse. Tatsächlich ist unsere Art, Dinge zu konsumieren und zu produzieren, außer Kontrolle geraten. In Anbetracht dieser Tatsache habe ich die Idee eines nicht schädlichen Produkts entwickelt. Kein Glas, keine Kunststoffe, keine chemischen Harze - das war meine Leitidee für ein unschädliches Produkt. Ein sortenreines Produkt, das komplett aus einem biologisch abbaubaren Material besteht, ohne jegliche Schrauben. Das war der Anfang von LAC DYE.

In 2020 human-made mass exceeds all living biomass. In fact our way of consume and producing things is out of control. In relation to this fact I created the Idea of a non-harmful product. No glass, no plastics, no resin - that was my leading idea of a non-harmful product. A product wich is completely made out of one biodegradable material, without any screws. That was the beginning of LAC DYE.
LAC DYE ist die erste freistehende Bodenleuchte aus Schellack. Einem selbst hergestellten, biologisch abbaubaren Material. Das Design von LAC DYE folgt dem Prinzip "eine Form, ein Material, eine Fertigungsweise". Die Hauptintention war es, Nachhaltigkeit greifbar zu machen und dem Thema eine Form zu geben. Durch diese Vorgehensweise ist es möglich, eine erhebliche Menge an Energie und Ressourcen zu sparen. Das Ergebnis ist eine sortenreine Leuchte ohne Schraubverbindungen, die man bedenkenlos recyceln kann.

LAC DYE is the very first floor lamp made out of a self-made, biodegradable material based on shellac. The design of LAC DYE follows the principle one shape, one material, one production method. The main intention was to give sustainability a physical shape. Through this way of thinking it is possible to save a lot of energy and material and the outcoming product is a a pure luminaire with no screw connections wich you can recycle without any hesitation.
